Photography: A Journey of Passion

After completing my SEE exams, I picked up photography just for fun. What began as casual clicks with a Samsung digital camera and my phone soon turned into a deep love for the art. In 2020, just before the pandemic, I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D5300. When lockdown hit, I spent months learning every feature of my camera, exploring street photography, capturing jatra festivals, portraits, and candid moments. Photography became my mental peace—a way to express emotions straight from the heart.

I’ve never pursued it professionally because I believe that if money became the motivation, the purity of my work would fade. Even though I took a short break at the end of 2024, photography is in my blood, and I will continue capturing stories for years to come.

Business: Building on a Legacy

My father has been a pioneer in Nepal’s broomstick industry for over 35 years. In 2060 BS, he registered Abhishek Traders under my name, laying the foundation for what has now become one of Nepal’s leading broomstick and Muda (wicker stool) brands.

Today, Abhishek Traders holds nearly 80% of the broomstick market in Kathmandu and 90% of the Muda market, producing around 500,000 broomsticks every year. To ensure the best quality and consistency, we directly import raw materials from Indonesia, bringing only the finest products to our customers.

I stepped into the business right after my SEE exams—starting from managing accounts and gradually taking on more responsibility. Today, I manage nearly half of the operations, focusing on both sustaining our legacy and pushing it forward. In March 2025 (Falgun 18, 2081), I expanded our reach by introducing a new line of lifestyle solution products, launching 25+ SKUs in cleaning essentials such as mops, wipers, brushes, and dusters.

I’ve always known that a 9–5 job wasn’t for me. I tried it once, and it felt suffocating. While many of my friends chose to move abroad for better opportunities, I’ve stayed because I believe Nepal holds immense potential. My mission is to explore that potential, grow what my father built, and create new opportunities here at home.

Business Blogging: Sharing Knowledge & Insights

To inspire and educate the youth, I write blogs on business trends and the import scene in Nepal. Through these blogs, I hope to motivate young entrepreneurs to see the opportunities around them and realize that success is possible within the country.

My Philosophy

I follow my passions while honoring the legacy I inherited. Whether it’s capturing emotions through photography, growing a family business, or sharing knowledge through blogs, everything I do is driven by creativity, authenticity, and purpose.
